The Great Train Robbery
The Great Train Robbery was a seminal work of early cinema. From Britannica.com: "The Great Train Robbery, American silent western film, released in 1903, is historically significant for its innovative approach to film editing and narration. The Great Train Robbery is acknowledged as the first narrative film to successfully establish continuity of action (the process of combining related, but noncontinuous, shots into a cohesive sequence). The film’s simple story follows four bandits who stage a train robbery and are eventually tracked down and defeated by a local posse. It is one of the earliest American silent films to survive, and it is considered an essential film classic."
We adapted The Great Train Robbery to Final Fantasy 14 by taking considerable liberty with the story and writing an original three-act play starring Eorzeans from all walks of life. We also hope to pay a little homage to the 1896 play of the same name by Scott Marble, which inspired the 1903 silent film.
Our production includes improvisation, scripted lines, an original bard score, unique set design, and opportunities for audience interaction!Check out the 1903 silent film below!

BIO: Hi friends! While many people have written a bit of their backstory for their character, I don't have one, so I'll let you all know a little more about me as a person!
I've RP'd for a long time in various forms, and have had a great time experiencing pretty much every way one can write with others! While I've had many jobs doing various things, I've been writing more recently and having an avenue to do that in a spontaneous and collaborative way is fun and exciting for me. This is my first time acting in a play in Final Fantasy, which has me EXTREMELY excited and I am also very excited to meet all of you! She is the founder and head photographer of Desert Rose Studios, who goes all around Eorzea to capture the best side of those she meets. Gamilla's work has also been known across the barding community for her venue shots, concert shots, and album covers tailored to each bard.
Our VIP Program
Each night, a handful of our attendees are part of our VIP program. Our VIPs are our generous donors helping fund the event. They have been invited to the Great Train Robbery discord server where they have a special channel for them, are invited to a private party with the cast and crew, are treated to a goodie bag upon arrival, and are even a part of the show!
Each VIP donated at least 10 million gil to the production, which covers expenses such as furnishings and gil compensation to our cast and crew for their time and efforts toward making this play possible.Our friends from Ley Lines Entertainment are hosting the VIP program for The Great Train Robbery:Kazuto and Willowgrace are owners of Ley Lines Entertainment (Formerly Club Ley Lines). For the last 3 years they have worked hard to create a safe, fun, and inviting space for everyone in the community. Ley Lines has been a passion project for them both and has allowed them to meet some incredible people along the way that have made the journey memorable and rewarding.
